Development and Marketing Assistant

SERV, a well-established leader in behavioral healthcare in New Jersey, supports people with mental illness and/or intellectual/developmental disabilities as they achieve greater independence and life satisfaction through a wide range of services.
Primary function:
The Development and Marketing Assistant provides integral support to the Senior Vice President of Development and Marketing, the SERV Development and Marketing team, and the organization as a whole.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Maintains accurate donor/prospect records and giving histories in Raiser's Edge NXT and generates reports as needed.
Generates gift acknowledgements.
Maintains accountability of restricted gifts and in-kind donations and works with Finance department to process donations and conduct gift reconciliations.
Works with the Senior Vice President of Development and Marketing and the Finance Department to prepare documents for the SERV Foundation's annual financial audit.
Processes deposits, invoices monthly credit card statements.
Assists with direct mail appeals and other mailings.
Coordinates holiday gifts for staff and consumers.
Helps coordinate and provides support at events and maintains revenue outcomes.
Works collaboratively with intradepartmental and interdepartmental staff to coordinate logistics for events, awards, and campaigns.
Recruits interdepartmental and volunteer support and assists with the coordination of their activities; provides logistical and administrative support to volunteer committees.
Maintains organized inventory of office supplies, marketing materials, business cards, items for events and awards.
Additional duties as assigned or as needed to meet to departmental or organizational goals.
Qualifications and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in English, communications or marketing is a plus, or a minimum of three years related experience; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively with internal and external constituents;Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite (MSWord, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint).
Experience with donor database management or other CRMs strongly preferred; Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be flexible, adaptable and detail-oriented;Excellent time management and organizational and problem-solving skills;Ability to lift 20 pounds;Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed and to conduct local travel; Valid driver's license in state of residence with safe driving record.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
